Hi Joseph, Is the domain controller used for file/print operations as well? I've seen this type of problem when the network i/o request queues on the T.S. system filled up. If you search against maxworkitems and maxmpxct in technet, you'll find that some of the symtoms include losing connections with the DC, TS server hangs etc. A neat way to check is to disconnect all sessions on the file/print server/DC. If it's related to I/O requests the TS server will come back to life, albeit somewhat broken. In any acse, I always bump up maxmpxct and maxworkitems on all back-end systems servicing terminal servers. Another cause of hangs on win2k terminal servers is a bug that comes in to play when the server starts doing signigicant paging. If disablepagingexecutive is set to 1, (hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\session manager\memory management). However I doubt whether that's the case here. Win2k service pack 3 also seems to have introduced a new type of server hang, cause unknown as yet. In this scenario, unless you've got a good reason to go to SP3, backing out to SP2 may help. I've opened a case with Microsoft 4 months ago, and they still have yet = to figure out that it is.=20 Problem: At anytime during the day, a terminal server, running Citrix, = will report the following error in the event log: The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\PRCPDC for the domain PRCWF is not responsive. The current RPC call = from Netlogon on \\PRC-MF5 to \\PRCPDC has been cancelled. This server has about 30-40 users on it and when this happens, everyone get's completely locked up. I cannot log into the server in console = mode. I have to power it off and reboot. =20 I have a PDC and BDC. If I leave the console logged in and this = happens, I can ping both PDC/BDC by IP, by name and I can NBTSTAT -A IP. I ran a sniffer for a while and sent them in to Microsoft for examination. This = was 3 weeks ago. I've been handed around to 3 techs and they claim = everything looks fine in my DNS/WINS. I even edited a lmhosts. File to point = directly to the PDC....I need heklp on this. It happens to 4 of my servers all running: Compaq Proliant DL series (380 & 360) Windows 2000 w/ SP3 Citrix MF 1.8 w/ FR-1 sp2+ Connected to a Cisco 4003 switch. Need help on this.
