[THIN] Re: Win2k and Win2003 in same farm

When I set up the servers I installed all of the available hotfixes. Going
forward I install them on an as-needed basis. I have not encountered any
issues with bad interactions at the farm level. Our W2k box has all the
hotfixes up through November of last year and our W2k3 boxes have all the
hotfixes through August of this year.

One word of caution - I would not recommend publishing desktops between the
two platforms. I have seen some goofy stuff happen when people roam back
and forth between W2k and W2k3.

What about Hotfixes? Do you try just use whatever is necessary for each
box? Just wondering how some of these could interact at farm level.

We have been doing it at my company for about a year without any issues (we
have one app that will not run on Win2k3).

Hi All

Does anybody run Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 in the same farm with
Metaframe XP? I realise the install source and patches are different for
the different OS's. Also is it OK long term or purely whilst you are
migrating to the new OS.
