Thanks Lucas for your suggestions....
This is a production TS (final release, not RC1 or 2)...and it works
wonderfully with other printers, even other USB printers...I've actually
tried connecting it directly to the remote PC and then connecting to TS, but
it still doesn't connect. I'd like to keep it as a stand-alone printer
without relying on a PC (that's why I got the jet direct model).

Sounds to me like there might be a problem with logical communication with
this printer. Things to check:
TS have a route to HP Pserv?

Other things to try, can you connect to another machine that has this
printer loaded and print through there? Does that work?

What version of 2003 TS are you running, production or Beta?

Of course these are all questions I'm sure you have addressed, but maybe
there is a suttlety that you have overlooked...I do it all the time and rack
my brain until it hurts...

Anyways, I would try linking to the printer through another computer.
If that doesn't work there is something wrong with that TS server. By the
way, can the TS link to other printers or is it just having problems with
this one printer?

Try loading HP's network drivers on TS. The DLC protocol I believe talks
directly to HP devices. It should be able to locate all HP print devices on
your network. Might work, might not. Life is a gamble.

Anybody else using 2003 TS yet? I have a HP Laserjet 1300N that is giving
me hassles. It works great, but the TS box won't connect it locally. I
have it set up with it's print server (jet direct) on a switch with a few
PC's. It works fine directly, but when I connect to the TS, the printer is
not to be found. I've added the printer drivers in the server properties in
the printers folder on the TS. Do I need to add it somewhere else? Thanks
steve
