Get NetAlias from here http://www.optimumx.com/download/#NetAlias

It works a treat for anything. This is what Microsoft Consultancy Services
sometimes use.

If it's for file access, you will run into a problem. I don't remember
the reg key to fix the problem, but you will get an issue of "A computer
with the same name exists on the network" or something similar.
Essentially windows won't like it. Teamed NICs are your best bet on this
front.

If it's for IIS and HTTP headers, CNAMEs work great.
