I found it downloaded it and now have 2 months to negotiate SA. the basic math says that large organizations are not in the habit of upgrading every 9-10 months; in fact many won't even deploy the latest rollup pack for 3-6months for fear that it will send everything bellyup. so if i don't renew and don't have to pay SA for 3 years, will that saving be more or less oe equal to the cost of renewing from scratch?. who knows maybe all the functionality needed by some may be addressed by Microsoft during that period and then what? Perhaps it is time to recognize that there are different customers with different needs. ie Enterprise SA which is paid but entitles you to consulting days, One major release upgrade in a 3 year cycle and ensures support on the product level used until this happens. very difficult? probably but Citrix are in the habit of making a huge amount of money even if they missed the analysts forecasts this quarter. It is time to stop and take stock of what has brought them to the point of 1B$ . their customers. I myself have experienced "that will be fixed in the next release" and "that is not officially supported" in return for the SA price paid , code should be produced in that is for the current product as well and "not officially" should never be heard again my 2 cents gabriel.j.byrne AIB Global Treasury IT Services IT Services 01-6418000 This document is strictly confidential and is intended for use by the addressee unless otherwise indicated.
