Try using devicehigh= instead of device= statements in your config.sys
file...

Hope this helps.

Neil,

Here's what I have..

AUTOEXEC:

echo off

path=a:\;a:\dos;a:\net

a:\net\net.exe initialize
a:\net\netbind.com
a:\net\umb.com
a:\net\tcptsr.exe
a:\net\tinyrfc.exe
a:\net\nmtsr.exe
a:\net\emsbfr.exe
a:\net\net start

CONFIG.SYS:

files=30
device=a:\dos\himem.sys
dos=high,umb
device=a:\dos\aspi8u2.sys
device=a:\net\ifshlp.sys
lastdrive=z

The "device=a:\dos\aspi8u2.sys" is the only thing I've added, and the
error occurs with or without that line.

It loads himem no probs, could be a dodgy command interpreter?

Lee

From vague memory of a long time ago making various boot disks, you may
fall foul of memory management when you have other drivers loaded - you
may need to switch on some UMA / HMA in order to have sufficient
available RAM addressable to load everything.

What's in your autoexect.bat and config.sys?
