If they are using the Internet Explorer on the server you can track them by configuring their internet explorers. When a browser gets something from a website it identifies itself with a string - you see these in the Weblog today (which is how you know the IP address) and it includes os and web browser version info. With IE you can set a registry entry to add more information. So basically, probably via group policy, you can add in a string that includes the logged in user name. The registry key is (usually) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent And normally contains a string such as "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE t.0; Win32)" Keep in mind that anything you put in the string will show up in the web log files of any site they visit! tim _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Pfeifer, Bruce A LCS:EX Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2006 7:27 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Web activity logging Can any one suggest a product that can be installed onto a Citrix server, that will log URL's and the user ID's that accessed them. We are considering using a Web proxy but a proxy would be over-kill for what we need. Or existing web monitoring, logs the IP address of "web browsing policy offenders" but if it happens to be the IP of a Citrix server, we need to trace URL's by user ID. Thanks.
