[THIN] Re: Watch Out with SP3 Preliminary Hotfixes Cause Conflict with Windows 2000 SP3

I'd have to agree with Minero. I haven't ever encountered this before,
but maybe it's because I've gotten more regimented on installing
hotfixes. I do remember installing some hotfixes with SP4 in the
filename and thought that was kind of strange as 3 wasn't out yet. Now I
know why... and to avoid those if possible in the future.

I didn't read that article in detail, but is it not just pointing out
the
fact that SP3 is overwriting post SP3 (pre-SP4) hotfixes? Which has
occured
with MS Service Packs for a very long time.

MS stops cramming in hotfixes into service packs a few months before
final
debugging/packaging and the release date. Nothing new there.

This really sucks! Now I have to check every server and make sure these
hotfixes are updated.
Microsoft should be doing a better job.
