With Server 2008 you can.  But you will need the TS 2008 licenses It will be
out soon enough and you can plan for the TSGateway as they have a browser
built in assuming you are talking about Chip PC.  This is a viable solution
to be budgeting for 2008. You can also stream apps to desktops via Softgrid
(Now owned by MS) or deploy another VDI desktop and stream them out.
It all depends on what the apps are though.  Thin clients do not fit every
scenario.  Don't be so quick to poo poo an idea until you have researched
it.
