age old argument Jeff.  It doesn't matter how resilient you engineer 
components.. they still break... or more often they still get config files down 
loaded to them and they break.

I just think putting even more reliance on the datastore is an utterly 
ridiculous thing to do... if of course I was right in the first place about the 
dependency.  WHat on earth was wrong with flat file movement?  madness if you 
ask me... and probably seemed like a fantastic idea at the time.

I would argue, if your that worried about your datastore then you've
got other problems that need to be corrected.
