Someone tried to send you a potential vir us or unaut horised code Did you have any personal replies from list members around that time? You might have been added to someones address book then. -----Original Message----- From: Ian Aston [mailto:iaston@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 07 January 2004 11:09 To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: FW: WARNING. Someone tried to send you a potential vir us or unaut horised code That's what I thought at first, but I tracked it back and it started when I joined the list. Thanks for the input though -----Original Message----- From: Angus Macdonald [mailto:Angus.Macdonald@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 07 January 2004 11:06 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: FW: WARNING. Someone tried to send you a potential vir us or unaut horised code I haven't had any so I suspect they aren't actually going to the list. Someone you know has the Swen virus and you are being hit by it. It spoofs the senders address so you might have trouble tracking down the real source. All you can say for certain is that it's someone with you and the apparent sender in their address book. -----Original Message----- From: Ian Aston [mailto:iaston@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 07 January 2004 10:50 To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] FW: WARNING. Someone tried to send you a potential virus or unaut horised code Hi folks, Sorry to be a pain, but I am a member of this list and I recieved 386 of these messages last week alone (see below). This accounts for 10% of all emails coming through my server. Are the lists monitored in any way for repeated virusers/spammers? This is really starting to become a nuisance, and it would be a shame to have to unsubscribe as I find the lists extremely useful.
