I think you’ll find that it’s related to the logon process, where if the timing
is wrong and the app doesn’t start up quick enough, the system may log the
session off. There are two registry keys that you can try.
IntervalsForLogoffCheck or LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds. Below is an
excerpt from my adm template. LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds is a common
requirement in XenApp 6 environments.

CATEGORY "Citrix XenApp Settings"

CATEGORY "XenApp Session Settings"

CitrixIntervalsForLogoffCheckExplain="When launching certain published
applications, the session was logged off before the application was started.
The issue occurred if both session and application startup took several
seconds. This fix adds support for a registry setting to configure the time
allotted before checking to determine if the session should be logged out
because no more user processes exist.\n\nThis setting has been superseded by
the LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds setting.\n\nRequires the Rollup hotfix

CitrixLogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds="LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds -

CitrixLogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSecondsExplain="This setting allows you to set
the length of time a client session waits for an application to start before
disconnecting. The length of time, in seconds, to wait for application start.

This is a race condition experienced with Appsense EM & Citrix.

Disable EM and test again.

I believe there is a workaround i just haven't had the time to test it.

Greetings List

we are having only SOME users (not all) log into Windows 2003R2 SP2, XenApp 5.0
(and R06) with a seamless app - and immediately getting logged off (regardless
of app)

they can launch it 4-5 times without success, then 6th time, boom they are in
and using .... wait for it ... notepad! (

We have

* duplicated a user with the problem, removed that user from ALL groups
except ctx desktop ones - FAIL
* disabled all printing services, - FAIL
* disabled appsense services - FAIL
* disable all citrix edgesight services
* removed the mandatory profile path - FAIL
* tried roaming profile - FAIL
*       disable all APP-V serices - FAIL
* find little in the userdebug.log other than - FAIL
* removed weird DLL's launching in the APPINT

RestoreUserProfile:  Profile path = <>
USERENV(22c.388) 17:15:50:863 ExtractProfileFromBackup: Failed to open key
