Hi all, I am trying to get Volo View Express to work on W2k SP3, Citrix Metaframe XPa FR3. I have followed these instructions from a post earlier in the year on this list: >The first was to modify voloview.exe itself. If you open voloview.exe with >reshacker, there is a REGISTRY entry, and under that are additional entries which >actually determine which registry keys get written to by voloview. I changed all >HKLM entries to HKCU, and HKCR entries to HKCU\Software\Classes, remembering to >select "compile script" before changing screens, and saving the result. Running >Voloview after that showed it was hitting only 2 registry keys, HKCR >\Voloview.Document.1 and HKCR\CLSID\{6C9FD2AD-78FA-11d2-9208-0060B0870405}. I >changed the permissions on these keys to full control for users and no more >problems. I have done this on 2 Citrix servers. On the first one it worked really well and I am able to open files as a standard user, close Volo View Express and open the file again, and again. On the second server, I can open as many files as I like the first time I open Volo View Express, but if I close it and try to open it again nothing happens. I get the mouse pointer with an hour glass and then nothing. This is if I double click a .dwg file or try to open Volo View Express without a file. If I try to double click a file I get the pop up error: "Cannot find the file 'G:\EGR_PC\PICTURE.DXF' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available." In the system log I get these errors: "Event id 26, Source Application popup, Application popup: Volo View Express: voloview.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x4c01c489" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read"." If I delete the users profile they can then use Volo View Express _once_ when they log on. If I run regmon on either server, I get 2 keys with access denied, but they are the same keys on the one that works and the one that doesn't. Nothing in task manager either. The only difference between the servers is that the one that doesn't work has Office 2000 sp3 and the one that does work has Office 2000 sp1. What should I be looking for? I have no idea what to try next. Thanks for any suggestions, Zoë This message is intended solely for the individual(s) and entity(s)addressed.
