I would agree that it's a pig...then again, so is IE=20
sometimes!
- Run the installer from the console. I install most
everything remotely but there are a few apps [Office, IE,
Visio...hmm, they're all MS products] that won't work
unless done from the console. As far as Visio goes, on
NT4/TSE, the install would take 7 hours done remotely
and 5 minutes if done on the console.

NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal =
Server\Install\Software\Visio\Visio
2000\Application\=20
c.On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the =
following registry value:
Value Name: Featuremgmt
Data Type: REG_SZ
Value: 0=20
This speeds up the startup of Visio.
- Some have also recommended disabling the splash screen
but I haven't done that myself.
