Depends on the format of the Movie. You can do a quicktime server and stream it if everyone has Quicktime or set up Windows Media Server which is also free and stream it down that way. Another way to do it if the file is an mpg and not to big is to drop the file in your web servers directory and give the users a link to it.... http://mydomain.com/movie.mpg should work If you use front page go here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4270f200-62cc-4189- acce-444d8defa062&DisplayLang=en See the MS solution for media broadcast http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=bc5c8210-cf6a-4bc8- 9e5a-3a165eae71b0&displaylang=en For quicktime if it is out there... http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qtss/ Or the Darwin Streaming Server http://developer.apple.com/darwin/projects/streaming/ Hope this is enough to get you started. I'm not sure how I'm going to get this going, but apparently my job depends on it... For a little information about our network, we have branches with 512k pipes heading to Wyse Thin clients from 2300 to 3600. Each office has 25-35 users. Our servers are Dual 1.2 GHz P3 with 1 GB RAM that support 25-35 users each. On the bright side, we did go ahead and put WiMP 9 on each of the servers "for future use." I have not yet received the video file that I'm supposed to have all of the users watch, so I don't know the size, resolution, codec, etc. Is there anything I can do to make this happen right now? Have any of you been faced with a similar challenge?
