Hi
I’m looking to design a Windows 10 VDI solution for a company I just started
working for. They have all their infrastructure in Head office (Citrix XenApp
6.5, VMWare vSphere and Windows File Servers). They have multiple branch
office around the country which are all connected by WAN links. No servers
reside in branch offices. Branches do not use Citrix, they are all running
Windows 10 and access data access over the WAN. Some branches have performance
issues accessing data over the WAN so I’m looking to install a VDI solution. I
need to cater for 500-700 users.
I'm looking to deploy XenDesktop V7 and buy new servers for ESX Hypervisor.
Definitely need beefed up ESX servers to cater for 700 users (thinking 5 ESX
Servers)??. What other infrastructure would I need to get a fast VDI solution
up and running? We don't have a storage solution. Assume I would need a SAN or
NAS utilizing SSD? Any other technology worth looking at?
Also looking at using a Thin terminal device in the branches. Any
recommendations? Budget is 400-500k for entire solution.
Thanks
Angela
