Thinking about it, I believe you're right. If you set the startmenupath= entry in the .ini file to point to the users desktop instead of their start menu, it should work. The only caveat I can think of is that the util currently deletes *.* from the start menu before it inserts the new icons. You might not want that on a desktop where "real" files might be saved. v1.1 (out tomorrow probably) will include desktop icons and only delete *.lnk when it starts. You could probably do that with the utility as is (I'm speculating). If it can create custom start menus, with folders and shortcuts, simply open the appropriate folder from the start menu, on the desktop. I used to do this, when using TSE, so I only had the icons I wanted on the desktop (ie no My Computer or anything like that). Custom folder in the start menu, with all the appropriate icons, then have (for example) an entry in the startup folder (of the start menu) pointing to a Kix script and use the showprogramgroup function (you can use this to maximise this folder, on the desktop). Hey presto, you've got custom icons on the "desktop" ;-), with the stuff you (possibly) don't want (eg network places, my computer, that sort of thing).
