[THIN] Upgrade to XP 3.0

Can I upgrade a single server in my farm, from Xpe FR3 to MFPS 3.0?
I do realize that this will then become the DC for the farm. Will this make
changes to my SQL datastore as well? Can MF FR3 and MFPS 3.0 co-exist in a
farm?
I have 60 servers (WIN2K SP4) in a single farm with multiple zones. I do
not want to move all of them at once....that is a large undertaking of
upgrading.
