[THIN] Upgrade recommendation

For the gurus out there...
For quite a while, I've been running MF XP 1.0, FR1/SP2 on Windows 2000 SP4.
I've applied every hotfix I can to these machines, but I get the same
problem repeatedly: 1 user, when connecting, causes our print spooler to
crash. I have it set to restart after 1 minute, but the user must logoff
and the logon again to get their printers to create properly.
I'm tempted to upgrade to MF XP 1.0 SP3, but I have heard some real horror
stories regarding MF SP3's interaction with 2000 SP4.
What is the recommended upgrade procedure, if I decide to upgrade, ie what
hotfixes are recommended to keep the servers somewhat stable (right now they
appear to be pretty solid, with reboots once weekly -- knock on wood)?
