The trend one isn't an ad or a bug. It goes out to the trend site and pulls
down the top ten viruses. The housecall button looks for a cookie it has
set as to whether it has been previously run or not so it can call itself
back up without having to reload the java applet so you can scan your drive.
That is all. A lot of users myself included have found both items
(housecall and the top ten virus list) to be of huge benefit.

Jim, did you know you had a web bug on the thin? It looks like it's
a =
part of the Trend Ad based on the url. They probably included it in the =
ad they gave you or the url that points to the ad. It doesn't look like =
it does much other than send the thin name and the date in it. It may =
be just for tracking how many eyeballs they get from the ad. Did they =
tell you about that part of the ad? Just curious.

For those who don't know what web bugs are, look at =
http://www.bugnosis.org/faq.html. I found the bug with the software =
from http://www.bugnosis.org. I've been amazed (probably shouldn't be) =
with the number of sites that use these things. =20
