Hi Charles, You can move the license database from one server to another (same O.S. version). It's basically a case of installing TS licensing on another server, stop the TS licensing service on both servers, copy the contents of the lserver folder (%systemroot%\system32\lserver) to the new server, start up the TS licensing service on the new server and only then activate the server. regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Charles Fraser Sent: Thu 17/08/2006 21:41 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: URGENT Please Help! TS Licensing All, Thanks for the responses. I was able to solve the problem by taking a different approach. I was able to force a removal of the licensing server as a domain controller (previously I only knew how to force the removal of a dead DC using NTDSutil). I found a Technet article which provided me with the /forceremoval switch to dcpromo. Now the license server is serving licenses as a member server and the DC's are properly replicating and the GPO's are being pushed down. I really wish Microsoft would simplify there TS licensing process and allow the licenses to backed up and restored without having to involve Microsoft, or even a backup TS server. Ok, done with rant ;-) Charlie Charles Fraser wrote: > All, I am in a serious bind with TS licensing.
