Hi Jeremy
We have a 80Mb link to HK. When I do a ping it comes back at 124ms (average).
QOS is enabled on link. Link is big enough, issue more with latency. In
relation to users, we have 50 concurrent Citrix users running Office Apps and
Intranet in Citrix. Users are in Australia but Netscaler is in China so all
traffic needs to traverse the link. Users open very large Excel spreadsheets
so concerned about performance over the WAN. Link is also used in the other
direction. Some users in China access File Paths in Australia (outside of
Citrix) but link is underutilised.
Thanks

Subject: [THIN] Re: Tool for WAN testing/Load simulation
Hi Ang,
You’re asking two different questions here.
There’s WAN emulators you can use. I use WANem: http://wanem.sourceforge.net/
You can create an appliance. Just Google and you’ll find plenty of info.
Examples of great commercial tools for simulating sessions…
- Login VSI
- Goliath Logon Simulator
What’s your bandwidth and latency? How many users are you expecting to host in
the remote location(s)? Are they just using Citrix, or will they be using apps
outside of Citrix? Do you have QoS policies?
Cheers,
Jeremy

Subject: [THIN] Tool for WAN testing/Load simulation
Hi
I’m looking to perform some Citrix XenApp 6.5 performance testing over a WAN.
I need to simulate a bad/busy WAN connection. Are there any free tools that
can do this?
Is there a tool that will load a Citrix app 30 times and perform a simulation
to test responsiveness over a WAN?
Thanks
