Actually, we built that system and have tested and monitored it. They do in fact get 120 + users with no major resource contention. My point was that how can it be that we can support 120+ users (substitute 50 if you prefer) with 4GB of ram and two CPUs while Vista requires it?s own powerful CPU and 1-2 GB of RAM for 1 user!!! A client told me last week that, while taking one half of redundant server farm down during a maintenance cycle, that they saw about 120-150 users per PS 4 server with total resources in use about 25% CPU and 50% RAM. These are dual XEON proc, 4GB servers (Dell 2850) Last week I met a guy who runs a desktop support company and that they are finding that Vista runs best with 2GB of RAM. 120 People of 4GB RAM versus 1 person on 2GB RAM Doesn?t this make you go ?Hmmmmm??.????
