You can't use redirected client printing for other terminal then. I
would look into a VPN device or fixed IP for the sites. With fixed IP
for the site you could print back to a single public IP and export the
LPD services off that IP address to an internal one. Otherwise your
stuck with having the terminal logged in all the time or getting
everyone their own printer.

We are using Compaq T1010 (Win CE) and a few Wyse 3320 (CE). We are
using Linksys print servers at the locations that have static IP's which
fixed their printing problem. The locations with printing problems now
are smaller dial in via ISDN or DSL type with no static IP's (sorry I
should have mentioned this first).

Spend 100 bucks on a jet direct...

Seriously, What kind of thin client is it? If it's a wyse, and your
using client side auto created printers, you shouldn't expect to be able
to share it. If it's a wyse and your using the LPD function (similar to
a jetdirect), it should work even when the client isn't logged in it
will need to be powered on. Check with wyse on the firmware if this is
a problem. Im running current firmware and don't have this problem.

Seriously though this is why JetDirects were invented....

Subject: [THIN] Thin Client Printer Problem

We are running W2K Server SP2 and Metaframe 1.8 SP2.

The thin client has a local printer that is shared with other thin
clients. The problem is when a user sends a print job to the shared
printer and the thin client with the local printer is not logged in. The
print job remains in the print queue and says printing and hangs in the
queue until the spool service is stopped and restarted. Even when the
thin client logs into the system it will not start the hung job. This is
a major pain, especially at night and on weekends. Is there a setting
or something I'm missing to prevent the queue from sending until the
thin client is logged in?

thanks
