to chime in on this as well...

You can also try manually setting the IP address and see if you have any =
trouble. I have problems with the EON 2000 getting stuck on an IP =
address if its DHCP lease has expired and the address it had gets =
reassigned. Resetting to default settings does not help either. It =
still wants that original address.

Mark,

Sounds like it may be trying to connect some local device and either it
can't or it isn't there. Check the server to see if you have it
configured to use local ports or -- more likely a client drive.

Otherwise... bad NIC - the whole batch? Or possibly the firmware image
that you have is shot. I would probably start at having Neoware get you
a new copy of the firmware, blast it down to two or three problematic
machines and test away. More than likely, the image is the problem.

Subject: [THIN] Thin Client ... NeoWare ???

Hello to all :-)

We have been seeing a very strange issue with the thin clients by
NeoWare. The device would give an "I/O Error" right before it should
give the Windows logon screen. If you click to x out of the "I/O Error"
it loops and gives the error again. If you turn the box off for about
ten seconds and on again you have a 1 in 5 chance of it working.

I called NeoWare tech support and thay had no idea of such an error. I
asked for the latest firmware upgrade to bring the ICA client to '6.2
build 995' from '6.2 build 985'. After the firmware burn I still get
this error.=20

The NeoWare tech told me to try and only use TCP (not TCP+HTTP) browsing
to see if that would help. I did, it didn't :-(=20

Any ideas?

NeoWare device is...
WinCE ver. 3.0
Neo Rev. 5.3.1
ICA ver. 6.2 build 995
