Someone can correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure you will) but at least SOME of
this problem will be caused by the version of XP Pro you are using.

When MS changed their CAL process, they continued to include W2K CALs with
XP machines until April or May last year (from memory) after which the CALs
were no longer included

I had a similar problem where I had two machines, one with an "Old" version
of XP and one with a "New" version. The "Old" machine had a CAL, but the
"New" machine didn't.

Ultimately, of course, the problem came down to the Licensing server not
issuing CALs (but that's another story)

Having said that, I suggest you check your licensing server setup, and a
reboot of the TS probably wouldn't hurt if it is only a new Lic Svr.

As an aside, is your Lic Svr in the same domain?

When you build a W2K Svr it will issue temporary CALs for 60-90 days.
If you then "turn on" licensing, it will issue them for another 90 days
until you actually need to go to the trouble of installing CALs on to the
server.

We get a lot of problems with people forgetting about the licensing server
and then wondering why the system suddenly stops working after 3 months.

Hope some of this makes some sense and is of some help somewhere....

That is correct. I have other XP Pro, XP Home and Windows 2000 machines that
are able to connect just fine using the newer 7.x and older 6.x Citrix
clients. I only have 2-3 boxes that connect at a time so it's not a lack of
available licenses.
Could this be related to the lack of a TS Licensing Server on my domain? (I
just added one an hour ago.)

Roger,

Let me try to narrow things down a bit...

All of your clients can connect successfully to Citrix except this 1
client running XP Pro correct?
Do you have other clients on the same OS that can connect?

Re: The terminal server cannot issue a client license.=3D20

I have a Windows XP Pro user that is unable to connect to my Citrix
server running on Windows 2000 SP4. The above error shows in the
server's event log on each attempt to connect. I've tried using RDP
and ICA (Citrix 7.x client) and neither work for this user. Other
machines connect fine, including a few running XP Home. My server
includes 15 Citrix licenses and no MS TS licenses have been added.

There's a lot of info floating around about this issue, including an old
hotfix from MS, but the more I read the more I'm confused. =3D20

Suggestions?
