I should have mentioned the TS licensing server setup.
I don't really understand how it works but here's the info I get when I
use TS licensing to query one of the TS licensing servers.

1, Exiting windows 2000 license | Type: BuiltIn | Total: Unlimited |
Available: Unlimited
2, Temporary licenses for existing win2k license | type: temporary |
total: - | Available: -
3, Temporary license for win2k TSCAL | Type: Temporary | Total: - |
Available: -

So is this how it should be or should the 3rd option be changed from
temp to something else?
I don't have any persmissions to access the domain controllers so I cant
really do much apart from see the info using TS licensing in admin tools
on our citrix servers.

I just found out that another group who use citrix in our company are
having the same problems.
They would be using the same domain controllers / TS licensing servers.

That is by design. When a device (thin or fat client) is issued a
temporary license, that is sort of like a grace period. You can connect
for a short period, but you need to buy a license to continue. After a
temp license expires, the server OS is all done letting it connect. If
they didn't do that, they would never sell any licenses.

Shouldn't the TS licensing server issue new ones?
I'm not sure how that TS license server works.
These users had been running for up to a year without prior problems.

And they do have temp 3 month licenses, I just figured the TS license
server would issue a new one once the old one expired?
I'll do some more reading:)

Looking at this again, it looks like the linux clients had temp TS
licenses that expired. =3D3D3D20

Subject: [THIN] TS and ICA licensing with linux client problems solved?

Hi,
Recently I had a problem with linux clients unable to log onto our
citrix farm.
The server would generate 1004 errors and the client would receive an
error "network and dialup problems are preventing communication with the
server".
This was only happening on some linux clients. These clients had been
working correctly for months before the problems started.

I couldn't find any assistance on any forum which matched our problem.
I ended up building another box as win2k server with metaframe fr3 using
eval licenses.
I got the affected linux clients to connect to this box (which worked).
They could all then connect to the original production server farm.

Any ideas what would have caused this? Why connecting to a new farm
solved it etc?

The only major change to the farm was a data store migration approx 1
month before the problems started.
