From: https://www.microsoft.com.nsatc.net/technet/community/en-us/terminal/terminal_faq.mspx For Windows Server 2003 Terminal Servers, all clients need installed CALs assigned to them in order for them to connect to Windows Server Terminal Servers. (There is no "built-in" pool.) Owners of Windows XP Professional desktop licenses are eligible for free TS CALs, however. So you need a TSCAL for each client. PC A connects to terminal server B. Therefore PC A needs a TSCAL. PC A Connects to TS C. It already has a TSCAL, so no problems there. PC A connects to TS B, and from TS B connects to TS C. TS B is now also a client, and therefore also requires a TSCAL. TS C does not require a TACAL. TS B is a single device, therefore it onlt requires one TSCAL for any number of connectios to other TSs. Does that answer the question?
