In our case, they were ALL purchased prior to 2003 Gold release. It isn't an enterprise agreement but it is under a volume agreement with SA. I hope it turns out to be true as we don't want to stay on 2000 forever. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ron Oglesby Sent: Monday, August 18, 2003 12:27 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: TS 2003 Licensing. We talked to a local software specialist and they indicated that all of our 2000 Pro and XP Pro machines that have a built in CAL and they seemed to indicate that we could get issued licenses for all of these machines so as not to have to buy licenses because of the MS Licensing changes. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chris Lynch Sent: Monday, August 18, 2003 11:58 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] TS 2003 Licensing. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Has anyone read the new white paper on Windows 2003 TS Licensing? Copied from Page 4: "All devices connecting to a terminal server running Windows Server 2003 are required to have a Windows Server 2003 TS CAL. No operating system, including Windows 2000 Professional or successor operating system(s) will be issued a token from the built-in pool." Does this suck or what? That means that you either a. Need a Windows 2000 TSL server, or b. Purchase a W2k3 TSCAL for every Windows 2000 machine.
