Just to add my take on this - I'm not that bothered about whether the list allows attachments, or not. In general, it's not normal, and not considered a good thing. But what with the normal state of paranoia, these days, I delete (unopened) messages with attachments, unless I know I should be expecting one. So some messages from the list get deleted unread by me - not that that's particularly earth-shattering, but perhaps I'm not alone in that. I'd agree with the point that attachments should be direct to individuals, when expected. Acksherly, my main gripe is all the flaming out of office replies that get sent to the list - you people know who you are - bally bad form.
