In Windows 2000 Server and NT, when you logon to the server, by default the logon scripts run asynchronously, and the desktop is available almost immediately, even if the logon scripts take forever to run in the background. I am led to believe that this is also the default behaviour for Windows 2003 Server. However, In my server farm of W2003 Servers, Terminal Services enabled and running Citrix Metaframe XP FR3, the logon scripts run synchronously. There are no local or group policies set under run logon scripts synchronously and I have discovered another customers site is doing the same. I want to run the login Scripts asynchronously.
