Can you check whether u have given DBO permission to the SummaryDB ?
Also ensure the table which created has exclusive permissions?

This is a new installation so i am not worried about losing any data. I
will try deleting and recreating the database.

Go into SQL Enterprise manager and look to see if your tables are owned
by DBO. If not then add the system administrator role to your account
that you are using. From here you have a choice of changing all of the
owners of your tables and stored procedures to DBO or recreating your
database. I had this about a month ago and found it was easier to
recreate the database although there are some scripts out there that
will help you set the ownership on multiple tables if you don't want to
lose the info in the summary database.

Having an unusual problem with the Summary Database. In the Summary
Database tab in Resource Manager it says the Farm Metric adn the
Database
Connection server are working
correctly, however it says there is a Database connection error. The
have
setup the Summary Database on SQL 2000. The account that I am using to
try
an access the database
has DBo rights. When I create the ODBC connection and test it is
successful. I am using
a Windows account and not a SQL login.
