Yeah I liked those tests too. I recommend them when I teach the CCA
classes.

Hard to say. The online version works quite well. The offline version
has
some bugs but the vendor has been very responsive to my findings.
Learncitrix also has more variation in that there are multiple choice,
true/false, and fill in type questions. I have been told the XP exam
has
all three types so this is a good thing. The offline version has some
quirks. There is no explicit "Exit" button so you have to click on the
'X"
in the upper-right corner. There's also a glitch (I think) in the
results
screens. Not all the numbers match. I could be misreading them though.
I've sent tech support screen shots. In wouldn't be the first time I've
misread something, nor will it be the last.
One thing I like alot about learncitrix is that you can create
exams/study
guide based on the various chapters of the curriculum. I've been
testing
myself on a chapter-by-chapter basis so I know where to focus my
efforts.
The version (Global Knowledge/Syngress) that came with the CCA book has
good content, but it has some mistakes and there are no updates
available.
For example, one question says A, B, D, and E are correct, but then it
goes
on to say that A, B, C, and D are inccorrect. I don't like the
interface
because it opens more windows. Makes me feel like I need a popup
killer.
Also, getting to the results/review requires followign multiple links,
some
of which lead to advertisements. It would be better to just have a
results
button and go directly to them.
I think the questions covered by the Global Knowledge software are
harder
than those in learncitrix. This does not necessarily mean better.
Doesn't
mean worse either. The questions are more detailed, for lack of a
better
word. Instead of focusing on concepts, it gets into exact keystrokes
(click this, then that, etc). The real exam may have questions like
this,
but I don't think they are valid indicators of knowledge. I will say
that
the Global Knowledge exam has more, and better, troubleshooting
questions
than learncitrix. Learncitrix stays very close the the curriculum and
Advanced Concepts Guide. Global has more scenario type questions.

I am in the same boat. My certificate expires on the 30th (Friday).
I
signed up with learncitrix.com and working my way through their
software.
I bought the CCA guide that our very own Ron Oglesby contributed to.
The
book is good, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

I just finished reading the MetaFrame XP 1.0 manual. I have a free exam
certificate for CCA which expires Aug 31, so needless to say, I want to
use
it. I'd prefer to not waste the $100 at pass the exam, so what do you
suggest is the best way to do more studying in the next week leading up
to
the exam? Perhaps something that won't cost any money?
