[THIN] Strange Printer Behaviour

W2K3, no Citrix.
Most printers working fine. However, one client has odd behaviour with a
Dell cn3000 (networked printer). He has 3 printers installed on his XP
machine - a Brother HL1060, a PDF creator, and the Dell. The Brother is
created correctly, and shows up in the event log. The PDF creator is
*not* created, but does show up in the event log. The Dell is neither
created nor shows up in the event log - which I've not come across
before.
I'm assuming that something is happening at the client end to prevent
the Dell making a request for auto-creation, but haven't a clue what.
Any ideas?
