Hmm,
It can't be a firewall issue if they can ping to 1494 on the server. It
sounds like some kind of ica settings in their profile might be hosing
things up.  The other thing you can check out and try to do is if this is
web interfaceconnection  is add the citrix servers and their IP to the web
interface servers hosts file. This has resolved connectivity issues for me
in the past and has also sped up logins.
