Check out the upgrade manuals from1.8 to XP. They recommend upgrading your master browser first then the farm members and also upgrading the farm members first then the master browser depending on which PDF you read. Not to mention service packs/feature releases. Hmmmmm. Hullo Citrix, have you heard of quality assurance lately? Sorry for not really helping, just a bit of a grumble really. Remember, our book for Sybex was written for the original 220 exam, with was based on XP installed with no feature release level. If you're taking the 221 exam, I would go with the numbers from the FR2 manual you have. Hope this helps, John >>> rlambert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 8/20/2003 7:39:11 PM >>> Hi all, I have some conflicts between books and manuals, as far as requirements for Metaframe XP and Citrix Management Console. Currently, this is what I am seeing: Metaframe XP FR2 Requirements (per FR2 manual) Windows 2000 Server - Service Pack 2 or better - 166mhz or better Pentium Processor - 256MB RAM - 2GB hard disk with 1gb free space. Windows 2000 Advanced Server - Service Pack 2 or better - 166 mhz or better Pentium Processor - 256MB RAM - 2GB hard disk with 1gb free space. Windows 2000 DataCenter Server - Service Pack 2 or better - Eight way or greater array of Pentium 3 Xeon Processors - 256MB RAM - 2GB hard disk with 1gb free space. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Per FR2 Manual) 250mb disk space for installing Metaframe XPe 150mb disk space for ICA client files Citrix Management Console Requirements: (Per FR2 Manual) - Windows NT 4.0 or greater. - 64MB RAM - 50MB minimum disk space for CMC and JRE 1.3 - Pentium class or better processor Now I also have Brad and John Price's Sybex book on MFXP administration. This one states that you need a Pentium 133 or better on Advanced Server. In addition, 200mb of hard drive space for the client connection files (is this different than the ICA client files? I don't think?). Lastly, only 25MB for the CMC. So, really I am confused. Which is it? I could tell you either or, but I don't know what is expected on the test as an answer. Did the requirments change between Future Release levels? Less disk space for the ICA client files, and more disk space for the CMC to be installed? Whee... :-) Thanks for any input. -- Ryan Lambert Systems & Network Engineer NetSource 1242 East 49th Street Suite 0503-B, Third Floor Cleveland, OH 44114 Ph/Fax: 216-373-2757 http://www.netsourceit.com ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor: RES PowerFuse, The Management Framework for Windows Eliminate Multiple Tools, Multiple Support Channels and Multiple Costs Manage, Control, and Secure an Entire Windows environment with Ease, including Real-time Reporting and Documenting Components Validate a Meaningful ROI on All of your IT Investments with RES PowerFuse. http://www.respowerfuse.com/ ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This e-mail was checked by the e-Sweeper Service.
