AMD has better processors no one (except Intel) can really argue against
that. The benchmarks that have come out have been one sided in AMD's favor.
The advantage of 64-bit isn't necessarily performance but user denisity.
Getting rid of the 2GB kernel limit now allows you to put more users on
systems that were memory starved. You can also use 4 or 8 way processor
boxes and actually take advantage of the # of processors because, again, you
aren't constrained by the kernel limit.
