Yes the act of mapping the printers is slowing it down. Win2k will wait
until it tries to map the printer before going on to the next step in
the log in process. By setting the published app not to wait for the
printers to map before logging in it should speed up the login process
for you like it did when you disable printer mapping.
Basically by setting this the published application is telling the OS to
log you in and not to worry about printer mapping just yet

Isn't it the act of mapping the printers that is causing the slow downs,
not when it is done...? And the slowing down is only really visible in
other sessions....

What you can do is set the publishsed app not to wait for printer
mappings before logging in. This I believe is a new option with FR2

We have a W2K Citrix Server farm and the following problem. Each time if
a user logon at the server, his session hangs for approx. 4 sec. All
users can for this short moment not work. The problem can be reproduced
at any time with both protocols (RDP and ICA).
As soon as I deactivate the printer mapping, everything runs perfect.
This is a known Microsoft problem.
