Depends on what temps your server vendor says are OK for "operating environment". Cooler is always better, of course, down to about 65 F or so (when you run the risk of condensation). If possible, you might put a few U's between each server in the rack. Although those servers are made so you can stack them without any spacing, it won't hurt them to have a little "breathing room" if you can manage it. -----Original Message----- From: Jaimes, Leon [mailto:Leon.Jaimes@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2003 3:57 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Server Cabinet Temperature Hello List, We have 5 IBM x335 servers running at a hosting facility. We put a temperature monitor in the cabinet because it was feeling to warm whenever we were there. The temp is holding steady at 83 oF to 84 oF. This is in the upper portion of the cabinet. The servers are about 3 feet below that. Is this acceptable? TIA Leon
