That is interesting. I have been using 2003 for a while now and have not
had to mess with that at all. Will research it and check it out.;

Ron, I actually was able to fix it. I went into Group Policy Object
Editor, Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Printers. In
there is a setting that says "Allow Print Spooler to Accept Client
Connections" Here is an explanation from the policy:

When the policy is unconfigured, the spooler will not accept client
connections until a user shares out a local printer or opens the print
queue on a printer connection, at which point spooler will begin
accepting client connections automatically

After I enabled this policy, printing was good to go. I think it makes
sense, anyway, that is how I got it to work!

No you are missing it. If it is LPT printing (most dos apps) then the
windows logical printers don't matter.

I am talking about the session LPT ports.

Drop out to a dos prompt and do a net use. Do you see any LPT ports. If
not net use them to client port or to the shared UNC for the network
printers.

Yes, it automatically redirects the printer using port TS003 (for
example), shows the printer name and computer name and lists the type of
printer. I can then print a test page or print from Word or Excel.
Just can't print from the 16 bit app

And in your session you have the LPT port mapped to what you want?

Subject: [THIN] Server 2003 16 bit printing

Hello everyone, I ma having problems printing from a 16 bit app on 2003
Terminal Services. I get a dos like message in the app that says Access
is Denied when trying to print. This same app printed no problem with
2000 Terminal Services. Does anybody know what is different between the
two? Is there a setting I have to change to allow 16 bit printing on
2003?

Thanks,

Collin White
