What's the purpose of have a dedicated deployment network? Are you
multicasting your images?

I have 2 nics in the server - one on a deployment network, one on the lan.
During the installation the deployment card gets bound first - ideally it'd
be the LAN card.

An additional problem is that I have a java network scanning application.
The user uses a web interface to configure the scanning component which
configures a profile that is sent to the scanner - the scanner should
respond back to the java application. However, if the deployment nic is
bound first the communication fails: if the LAN nic is bound first its fine.

What I want to do is include in the scripted installation that the binding
order be explicit, so that the LAN NIC is bound before the Deployment.

The MS KB article says its not possible to script :( - it suggests writing
a utility.

Thinking on I might be able to look again at the bios settings and check
which card is targeted as being the first presented. In the winnt.sif file
Adapter2 is the deployment NIC but is getting bound first :?

What problems are you experiencing? Perhaps there is an alternate solution
to changing the binding order.

Hi,

There is an MS KB article that suggests that to script modifying the n/w
binding order you need to have a c++ program written -
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894564/en-us#E1ADAAA)

Does anyone have such a utility already made up, or know where I can get
hold of one?

tia.
