I've looked at SUS, but I didn't see a way to install on demand.

  It's been a few months since I looked at it, but as I recall, you set
registry values to tell the machine where to look for updates on a scheduled
basis. I was talking about a method of installing updates on demand from a
source other than the Windows Update site. I'm going to look at HFNetCheck
Pro and the GFI product. Or, I'll download all the updates individually and
maintain batch files that install them all.
