Jeff, Use GFI's Network Security Scanner. This will allow you to donwload all patches once, then install them as desired. For your use, this could be really cheap, too. http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/ -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Durbin [mailto:techlists@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: 25 May 2004 21:08 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Script To Install All Post SP Hotfixes? Speaking of installing all the hotfixes.....every time I build an XP Pro machine (or any other for that matter), I have to install the latest service pack and then download all the critical updates, which can often take a long time, as I live in a technological third world called New Zealand. Even if the customer does have the speed, they pay by the megabyte, so if you've got a bunch of machines, it's more economical if you can download the files once and install to all the new machines. How does everyone apply critical updates after installing an OS? I've looked at SUS, but I didn't see a way to install on demand. My next thought was downloading all the patches individually and using a script/qchain. Anyone doing this? Thanks.
