[THIN] Samba and Citrix

hi all
we recently moved our data from a winnt 4 server to a linux/samba server.
since the migration, users on the citrix boxes occasionally get error
messages when trying to open or save word and excel files into common file
shares. i think it is only the common file shares that are causing us the
grief.
we are using citrix metaframe xp over win2k and samba v3.0.2 on redhat 7.3
we have trying upping the connections on the samba box. this reduced the
amount of calls relating to files getting locked, but now we have maxed out
the parameter, we think we are looking in the wrong direction.
2 things are really confounding - 1. it doesn't happen for all files, and
2. it tends to come and go.
