Yeah, was looking into this as well as an alternative if kix didn't
work.

Managed to get around the issue yesterday and its working real well now.

Thanks for your response.

I dont use the builtin KIXTART printer functions, but i use KIXTART to
launch con2prt.exe (win2k resource kit).

This works very well...

Thanks Rob,

For some unknown reason yesterday it started to be much more reliable
and didn't give any problems. Will have to put it down to the weather
;-)

Am finding though the setdefaultprinter function to be really unreliable
though. It doesn't always seem to work.

I can't say I ever had any issues with mapping printer using kix...

The locking up is something I've never seen before.....

might be the version you're using, I'm still on the 4.01 version.

Not sure if this is a bug with Kix or not.

Im trying to setup a Kix script to create or delete printers
upon login based on group memberships.

Im finding that using th addprinterconnection function is really
unreliable where the kix engine will hang randomly when trying to
connect to a printer.

Having more success by executing the Setdefaultprinter function
straight after each printer, script execution will work for longer but
will still lock up the kix engine if I map more than 3-4 printers.

Anyone got any ideas on why this would occur?

Tried Kix 4.2 and 4.22 same problems.
