Hi Magnus,

Not sure, but since cmstart is a Citrix component, my guess would be no.

regards,

Rick

Did SP4 replace CMstart.exe with a newer version?

Hi,

Had this problem on one customer site and traced it to cmstart taking just
about forever.

I removed cmstart.exe from appsetup under hlkm\software\microsoft\windows
nt\currentverion\winlogon.

And added a line:

Start /c cmstart.exe

Towards the end of usrlogon.cmd.

Cmstart still takes ages to complete, but it runs in the background and
doesn't stop explorer from initialising reasonably quickly.

Regards,

Rick

Hey Group:

Below is the last I have heard about the problems with EXTREMELY slow logins
to Citrix running W2K with SP4.

The fixes I have seen (callback & print mapping) are not available to me: We
do not use callback, and I have to map their printer.

Does anyone know of there has been another fix published recently?

(and yes, if the only fix you know of is to uninstall SP4, I'd love that
suggestion if it really is the only fix)

Thank you.

In addition:

The auto created printer feature via MF will also cause this. By
de-selecting "Connect Client Printers at Logon" will also fix slow logins.
I am one of many who have an escalated case with Citrix to resolve this
problem. So far, it has been determined that a handle required for this
feature is missing in the "wfshell.exe".
