A further thought... If I redirect My Documents, Desktop, Start Menu and Application Data via = GP to the central file server, do I need to implement roaming (or = similar) profiles. =20 Basically, can I get away with just redirecting these 4 things and = what's left is "stuff" that I can get away with not having if the user = logs on to the another server next time.? Will this work? Is this the right way to go?, and if so, will the user = lose any settings or information? Remember share permissions, as well as NTFS permissions on the remote = (read: server location). Especially if using GPOs, folder redirection, and any = sort of setting for exclusive access. If you are creating, or in any way manually copying or creating = mandatory profiles, ensure the registry permission on the hive are conducive. Oh, and don't cross the red and the blue wires... ;-) Neil > -----Original Message----- > From: Steve Rance [mailto:Steve.Rance@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 > Sent: 27 November 2002 11:13 > To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [THIN] Roaming Profiles >=20 > hello again, >=20 > My job for today is to look at setting up roaming profiles=20 > for our =3D Citrix server users (as we only have one server the=20 > profiles are local), =3D now we are going to two citrix servers=20 > this clearly has to change. >=20 > I have never ever used or looked at roaming profiles and know=20 > "bugger =3D all" about them, just that I need to use them. >=20 > If anyone can share any good resources (ie. white papers,=20 > documents, =3D etc), any tips, hints, experiences or any thing=20 > to watch out for I would =3D be most grateful. *********************************************************************** This e-mail and its attachments are intended for the above named=20 recipient(s) only and are confidential and may be privileged.
