Michael,

You could use the macro function in kix

@PRODUCTTYPE=20

OS type. Possible values:

"Windows NT Domain Controller"
"Windows NT Server"
"Windows NT Workstation"
"Windows Me"
"Windows 98"
"Windows 95"=20

Grx
Rob

Oh yeah. DUH>

Is there a way to do this on win98 or winME so that I could create a =
script
to check the os variable on a local workstation and run a script that =
works
on the local workstation?

Right click "my computer", go to "properties", go to "advanced" (if =
win2k),
select "environmental variables".=3D20

Set a "system variable" (in the lower part of the pop-up screen).

Dumb question: How do you add the OSVER variable to a server so that it =
is
always there anytime someone logs into that server?

yes...seperate the profiles by adding a system variable to all the =
servers
(NT and W2K) such as OSVER=3D3DWin2000 for W2k and OSVER=3D3DNT4 for the =
NT =3D
4.0 TSE servers. Remember the servers will need a reboot after you have
added the variable. You can then separate the profiles by putting =
something
like the below in the TS Profile path is users and computers/User =
manager

\\server\share\%OSVER%\%username%

Does it matter if you have roaming profiles in a mixed nt4 terminal =
server
and win2000 terminal server environment?

Thanks
