Drivers are dependant on client only. Print job is rendered by the Citrix server and the client printer port. Same driver must be in use at both ends of the 'pipe'. So NT4 clients = NT4 driver on Ctx Srvr and NT4 client. If so how do I install 9x drivers on a non-win9x server? I do use the WTSUPRN.INF file for name mappings. Daniel J. Do you know for a fact what I need? Reason I'm pushing this is because I think my print drivers are the cause of all my typing latency issues. My print servers are NT, one on the local LAN of the Citrix server, others are across the WAN, the Citrix server is 2K, the clients are all NT, 9x, 2k. Some drivers that are installed on the server show up as 2000 and (NT or 2000) under Printers-ServerProperties. Daniel J. I believe, you would need both. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Samaan [mailto:dsamaan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D3D3D20 Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 10:43 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Riddle me this, Riddle me that - printing mystery Well what drivers should be installed on the Citrix 2k servers? We had a few issues because of a policy we set that would not let people logged on from an NT computer create their own printers. This was a permissions issue. A user JOANN, running Windows NT Sp6a , with ICA client 6.30.150. will not get all or any of her printers auto-created when she logs in directly to any server. If she does get any it's only 2 of them. The printers are an OKI9200, HP 8000, HP 8100. =3D3D3D3D3D20 Here's the kicker....If I log onto the workstation with any Admin account, install the same printers and than connect to any Citrix server using any other account EXCEPT the user account JOANN, the printers will auto-create. If I log onto the workstation with any Admin account and log in as JOANN, maybe two of them will connect...if I'm lucky. =3D3D3D3D3D20 So thinking her profile is screwed up, when to another workstation, Win2k, Win98, winNT and logged onto Citrix as JOANN and the printers that are installed on that workstation were auto-created fine; therefore I don't think her profile is corrupt. =3D3D3D3D3D20 To be on the safe side I remove all the reg entries for the drivers, removed the ICA client, re-install the NT SP6a, rebooted, reinstalled the drivers one at a time, but nothing auto-created. If I do open the ICA Printer Config , all the printers are disconnted, but I can connect them, but they don't retain after logging off and back on. =3D3D3D3D3D20 The only way I got it to work is while connected I installed the printer using Add Printer and connecting to via the Client Network to JOANN's PC. =3D3D3D3D3D20 WHY? WHY? WHY? =3D3D3D3D3D20 Just to make things worse. Since installing FP2 some users printers don't show up as \\CLIENT\<print <file:///\\CLIENT\%3cprint> server>\printer name. They show up as the normal name like on their workstation PRINTER NAME. =3D3D3D3D3D20 Sincerely,=3D3D3D3D3D20 Daniel J.
