FYI - If you go this way, LaunchIt will take care of all members of the
"family tree", no matter how convoluted. I agree though, it sounds messy.
I guess as long as the users don't look under the covers, they'll never
know.

Thanks. I'm not sure this will work for me. I wrote an 'application
launcher' that starts the program. They have 40 properties. Most users
get access to a single property, but others (like Managers) get access
to multiple properties. I wrote a small vb app that parses their group
membership and either:

1) Gives them an error telling them that they're not a member of any
authorized RentRoll group
2) Gives them a list of properties to choose from, maps a network drive
to the location, and launches the app from there.
3) If they're only in one group, map the drive to that location and
launch the program.=20

I did that to avoid publishing the application 41 times. If I use
Launchit, Launchit will be launching my app, which launches RentRoll.
I'll take a look at it though. Thanks for the input.

If what you describe is the cause, then one likely solution is as
follows.

Download "Launchit" from www.tmurgent.com. It's a free utility.
However RentRoll is started today, replace the command with LaunchIt,
with the normal RentRoll command line as arguments to LaunchIt. (e.g.
"Launchit Rentroll.exe plus args"). LaunchIt will run RentRoll. When
the executable for RentRoll completes, LaunchIt will look for whatever
RentRoll is leaving behind and clean it up. Works with both 16 and 32
bit apps. This should close the session.

Good luck.

Subject: [THIN] RentRoll - DOS App, Multiple Instances

HI all,

Has anyone every integrated RentRoll? I've got the app configured for
a property management company with 40 sites and it's working fine.
However, in the CMC, I notice that a single user will be listed as
having the published app open multiple times in the same session. From
what I've seen, this occurs when the user gets disconnected or closes
the program and then reconnects. I've tuned TCPMaxDataRetransmissions
and ICAKeepAlives and the disconnects are much less frequent. I think
what's happening is that the user closes the program but it doesn't
actually log them off (they have no other apps open on the Citrix
servers). Then, when they reconnect, they're redirected to their
existing session, but a new instance of RentRoll starts.

FYI:
3 servers
Win2K SP3
MFXP 1.0, FR2
Am using Tame because this DOS app polls the keyboard like crazy - this
has calmed down the CPU usage

Anyone seen this kind of behavior with RentRoll or any other DOS app?

Thanks,
